Cambodia is a fascinating country in Southeast Asia that offers visitors a rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and a warm and welcoming population. If you are planning a trip to Cambodia, one of the essential things to consider is obtaining a visa. Luckily, Cambodia offers the convenience of an On Arrival Visa, allowing travelers to obtain their visa upon arrival at the airport or land border checkpoints. Here’s everything you need to know about the On Arrival Visa for Cambodia.

Types of On Arrival Visa

Cambodia offers three types of On Arrival Visas, depending on the purpose and duration of your stay:

1. Tourist Visa (T-class): This visa allows tourists to stay in Cambodia for up to 30 days. It is ideal for those planning to explore the country, visit temples, or enjoy the beautiful coastline.

2. Ordinary (E-class) and Business Visa (EB-class): These visas are suitable for those visiting Cambodia for business purposes, attending conferences, or engaging in employment. The Ordinary Visa allows a stay of up to 30 days, while the Business Visa offers stays of up to one year.

Applying for the On Arrival Visa

To obtain an On Arrival Visa for Cambodia, you need the following documents:

1. Passport: Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay in Cambodia.

2. Visa application form: You can download the visa application form from the official website of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Fill it out accurately and have it ready upon arrival.

3. Passport-size photo: You will need one recent passport-size photo (2 inches by 2 inches) to attach to your visa application form.

4. Visa fee: The visa fee must be paid in cash, preferably in US dollars. The current fee for a Tourist Visa is $30, while the Ordinary and Business Visas cost $35 and $130, respectively.

Upon arrival at the airport or land border checkpoint, look for the Visa on Arrival desk. Follow these steps to obtain your On Arrival Visa:

1. Fill out the visa application form: Have your passport, visa application form, and photo ready. Complete the form accurately and attach your photo as required.

2. Pay the visa fee: Proceed to the payment counter and pay the visa fee in cash. Ensure you have the correct amount and preferred currency.

3. Submit your documents: Hand in your passport, completed visa application form, and payment receipt to the immigration officer at the designated counter.

4. Collect your visa: After a short processing period, your passport will be returned to you with the visa attached. Check the visa details for accuracy before leaving the counter.

Visa Extension

If you wish to extend your stay in Cambodia beyond the initial visa duration, you can request a visa extension from the Cambodian Immigration Department. Visa extensions can be obtained at the department’s headquarters in Phnom Penh or at one of its provincial offices throughout the country. Keep in mind that overstaying your visa can result in fines or legal consequences.
